TERI ALBRIGHT
1951-1997
HOLLAND
Approved 1979
Teri (Courson) Albright was born in
Fullerton, California, December 28, 1951. She and Cork
Albright were married in 1971. Teri was saved October 15,
1972, and spent 2-1/2 years in Holland where her husband organized
the Emmanuel Baptist Church for US Air Force personnel. They then
attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and were
approved as missionaries of the Baptist Bible Fellowship in
1979.
Teri was diabetic from childhood which caused
her to suffer from poor eyesight. She also had severe
arthritis which deteriorated her body, necessitating many surgeries
and joint replacements. The last several years of her life
were spent in a wheel chair or in the hospital where she faithfully
witnessed to the staff.
Teri was a consummate encourager. She
gave encouragement when she needed it most. She was known for
her newsletter entitled "Times with Teri in Holland"
which left everyone who read it uplifted and convicted for having
grumbled about trivial matters. She never complained about her
condition or inability to do the "normal" things in
life.
Just a week before her death she had E-mailed
the mission office to say, "I certainly do not understand the
wisdom and knowledge of God. We do, however, know His grace
is sufficient. Sometimes I have trouble finding God's will in
all of this, but His Word does not fail to astonish me. We
can't always change our circumstances but we can do something about
our attitude."
After a second stroke, Teri went home to be
with her Lord on March 4, 1997. She was survived by her
husband, Cork, and three children Amos, Amy, and Angele.
She is buried in Holland where she served for
25 years.
