Frances L. (Gleckler) Brown was born August 15, 1943, in Pittsfield, Illinois. She had attended church all of her life but had never been told how to be saved. After high school graduation, she was invited to another church and made a profession of faith.

She met Tom Brown at that church and they were married August 18, 1962. They moved to Rock Island, Illinois, and it was there that the Lord called her husband to preach and to become a missionary. Fran also surrendered her life.

While attending a revival at a neighboring church, she realized that she had never truly been saved and on March 21, 1969, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. They graduated from Baptist Bible College in May, 1972, and were approved as missionaries to Peru with the Baptist Bible Fellowship in May of 1973. They served there faithfully until May of 1985 when her husband was tragically killed while protecting his family from robbers.

Fran returned to the states with her three children, Gary, Tate and Esta. In October of 1987 she was diagnosed with a fast growing tumor of the liver. Fran passed away November 30, 1987.
