Bill Lee was born in Jacksonville, Florida, December 18, 1940. He was a graduate of Englewood High School in Jacksonville and obtained a degree in safety engineering from
Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado. He later attended Baptist Bible
College West in Denver, Colorado. Bill and Beverly Anne Butts were married June 24, 1961. From 1976 to 1979 they lived in Isfahan, Iran and became very involved in the Isfahan Baptist Church. Later their work moved them to Farmington, New Mexico, where they served in the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
They were approved as Baptist Bible Fellowship missionaries to the Canary Islands, September, 1983. Their sending church was Village East Baptist Church, Aurora, Colorado, Donald R. Cavin, pastor. They established a growing work there on the
islands. Bill waged a courageous fight with cancer for several years. He passed away August 18, 1995. He was survived by his wife, Beverly, and two children: Robert Dean and Deborah Lynn. Beverly
continues to serve as a missionary.
